01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Head down the steps into the Asakusa Underground Mall, a passage retaining the distinct atmosphere of the Showa era, and you will encounter the unmistakable presence of NinjaBar Asakusa. Staff dressed in ninja attire greet patrons and passersby with an approachable demeanor, creating an easygoing environment where solo drinkers and first-timers can comfortably step through the doorway.

Shelves Lined with One-Cup Sake from Across Japan

A primary highlight of the bar is its diverse assortment of single-serve cup sake neatly displayed along the shelves. The bottles represent diverse regional styles from around the country, ranging from bone-dry junmai labels like Furosen and Hatsuzakura to cups bearing character designs such as Chiyomusubi Kitaro and Kinoene Chiba-kun. Describing your preferred taste to the staff will prompt thoughtful recommendations suited to your mood that evening.

Custom Highballs and a Robust Range of Western Spirits

In addition to sake, the establishment pours a wide variety of highballs and Western liquors. Whisky choices for highballs encompass American bourbons such as Jim Beam and Four Roses, heavily peated Islay malts like Ardbeg and Laphroaig, and Japanese bottles including Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki, enabling comparative tastings. Draft beer is on hand as well, with options such as Asahi Super Dry served in either half-pint or full-pint pours.

Laid-Back Toasts with Nostalgic Dagashi Snacks

A relaxed spirit runs through the experience, highlighted by the tradition of picking a piece of dagashi—nostalgic retro candy or dry snacks—with each drink order. Paired with casual banter over the counter, the venue offers a welcoming stop for a quick drink or a final nightcap during an evening in Asakusa.
